Day01 Flight to Shanghai
Day02 Shanghai - Kunming flight MU5415 1630/1920 1N in 3*Weilong hotel
In the morning arrive in Shanghai and greeted by the local tour guide. After a short stopover in the airport take a flight to Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province where greeted and transferred to hotel. The remaining time free.
Day03 Kunming - Dali night train No.212 2200/0700) B/L/D
After the breakfast visit the Lunan Stone Frost about 100 kilometers to the east of Kunming, which enjoys its distinct landscapes and unveils the best out of the wonders of the Karst tolography. The Lunan Autonomous county is a home of the Sani minority. This karst Stone Frost, with an area of 27,000 hectares, appeared approximately 270 million years ago when the crust of earth lifted and the original endless sea allowed to disappear. Before that visit a Sani village on the way. Afterwards go to Dali by a night train (soft sleeper, 4-bed-compartment)
Day04 Dali 1N in 2*Dali hotel B/L/D
Early in the morning arrive in Dali. The well preserved ancient city gates and the historic buildings have shown the city's long history. After a short break in hotel visit the Erhai lake in the east of the city. The lake with an area of 249 square kilometers, is 40 km. long and surrounded by high mountains such as Cang Shan (the Azure Mountain) being 4122 m. high in the sky. Enjoy the beautiful landscape in the boat. Back Dali, stroll in the alleys of the ancient small town. Besides, visit San Ta Si (Three-Pagoda-Park) in the northwest outskirts of Dali as well as a family of Bai minority.
Day05 Dali - Lijiang 200 km 2N in 3*Grand Lijiang hotel B/L/D
In the morning free. In the afternoon drive to Lijiang.
Day06 Lijiang B/L/D
With an altitude of 2600 m. above sea level on Yun-Gui Plateau, Lijiang is located in the Naxi Minority Autonomous County of Yunnan Province. The city has a 800-year-old history and is the only city where the Nazi ethnic minority reside. It is famous for its old wooden houses and the layout of the town's streets. The cobblestones are seen here and there in the city as one walks. First drive northwards 30 km. to the Yulong Xueshan (Jade Dragon Snow Mountain), which is 5596 m. high and at the south edge of the Tibetan Plateau. This mountain has long been admired as "a kingdom of forests" or "a treasure of house vegetation" with rare birds and animals moving and flying about in it. Afterwards visit the bay-ha-village of Naxi minority where about 350 Buddhism mural paintings made between 14th and 17th century are preserved. While visiting Hei Long Tan (Black Dragon Pool), see that the summits of the snowy mountain nearby are clearly reflected in the pond. In the evening enjoy a traditional music performance given by Naxi minority.
Day07 Lijiang - Zhongdian 210 km 2N in 3*Diqing hotel B/L/D
Continue the journey to Tibet and come to Jinsha Jiang River (Golden Sand River), the upper reaches of the Yangzi River (the longest river of China, 6380 km) In the15-km.-long Tiger Jumping Gorge, as the turbulent water of the Jinsha Jiang River is forced by Hailuo Shan standing in its way to turn abruptly 100 degrees north-east eards and thus gives birth of the "First Bend of the Yangzi River". Here the cliffs on the west bank of the river is 4000 meters above from the surface of the water, while a giant rock, just called Tiger Jumping Gorge of 300 cubic meters or so, is laying in the middle of the river to cause the waves up to the sky. In the afternoon arrive in Zhongdian, which is 3200 m. above sea level situated close to the border between Yunnan and Tibet. Most of the residents here are Tibetans.
Day08 Zhongdian B/L/D
In the morning drive to Bita lake which lies 3539 m. above sea level and is surrounded by flourish virgin forest. Have a 7-km.-long trekking in 90 minutes by the lake. In the afternoon visit the Sumzanlin monastery 5 km. away from Zhongdian, which was built by the 5th Dalai lama in 1679. In 1958 the monastery complex still accommodated about 1300 monks of the Gelugpa Sect. It is a pity that in 1959 this monastery was almost completely devastated during the tragic Civilization Revolution. Anyhow it was systematic reconstructed in 1982. Today several hundred monks in the prayer halls do their Buddhist exercises again. Characterized by Its Han-Chinese and Tibetan construction style, the monastery with an area of 34 ha. is considered as the most important monastery of Gelugpa-sect in Yunnan province. The mural paintings and wood carvings in the monastery are quite fine. On 29th of November every year in Chinese traditional lunar calendar an important religious party called Gedong-party is held here. People dance with masks to pray for luck of the next year. In addition, visit Dabao Si monastery situated on a hill with an altitude of 3300 m. above sea level. The flying streamers around the monastery and the approx. 2-km long Mani-stones will impress you deeply.
Day09 Zhongdian - Kunming flight, Kunming - Anshun night train 542 km B/L/D
In the morning transferred to the airport, and then fly to Kunming the capital of Yunnan province. In Kunming have a city tour, visiting the bird and flower market and the West Mountain. In the evening go to Anshun by night train (soft sleeper, 4-bed-compartment).
Day10 Anshun - Guiyang 110 km 1N in 4*Holiday Inn B/L/D
In the morning arrive in Anshun of Guizhou province to visit Huangguoshu Waterfall, which is 80 m. wide and 70 m. high and behind which is a 134-m.-deep. While trekking in the mountain get sight of many beautiful banyan trees. Also visit Longong (Dragon Palace) Cave, which gets its name from that these underground Karst grottoes just look like the crystal palace of the dragon king in the sea. The biggest grotto among them is 110 m. high with an area of 400 square meters. The end of the trip is to go sailing for about four kilometers in the underground river. Then go to Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou province.
Day11 Guiyang - Kaili 200 km 2N in 2*Minzu hotel. B/L/D
Driver to Kaili. In the afternoon visit the Minorities Museum in Kaili.
Day12 Kaili B/L/D
Drive about 35 km to the southwest of Kaili to visit Shanglangde village where enjoy the local singing and dance performance. In the afternoon visit another village by the name of Gejia.
Day13 Kaili - Zhenyuan 180 km 2N in the simple Wuyang hotel. B/L/D
Drive to Zhenyuan. On the way visit a factory for silver jewelry and embroidery of the minority Miao near the Shidong village. In the afternoon arrive in Zhenyuan.
Day14 Zhenyuan B/L/D
In the morning visit Black Dragon cave. In the afternoon go sailing on the Wuyang River within fabulous surroundings.
Day15 Zhenyuan - Liping 240 km 1N in the simple Guloupo hotel. B/L/D
Drive almost the whole day with some breaks for taking photos and the visit of a village on the way.
Day16 Liping - Sanjiang 260 km 1N in the simple Chengyangqiao hotel. B/L/D
Early in the morning start out and late in the afternoon arrive in Sanjiang, where visit Chengyangqiao (Wind-and-Rain Bridge).The bridge was built in 1916 with a length of 67 meters long and consists of five pavilions connected with each other by corridors, which best exemplifies the architecture art of Dong minority nationality. In addition, visit the Mapang, a drum tower, which is twelve meters high and made of timber. The building is based on four pillars with a 9-storey roof. Almost every village in this region possesses such a tower which is the landmark of Dong minority and serves as a place for communication.
Day17 Sanjiang - Longshen - Guilin 190 km 3N in 3*Dangui hotel. B/L/D
Drive to Guilin. On the way see the biggest terraced fields of China in Longshen village. In the late afternoon reach Guilin. Characteristic of Guilin scenery is its oddly-shaped solitary hills rising out of flat ground.
Day18 Guilin - Yangshuo - Guilin B/L/D
After breakfast in Guilin, go sailing on the Lijiang River to Yangshuo. The Lijiang River is crystal clear, and no matter how deep the water is, the bottom - the pebbles, sand, and weeds can be seen. In the afternoon view Elephant-Trunk Peak named from its shape by the Lijiang River. On the way back Guilin, drive over the vast fertile plain which is formed by alluvial soil and limestone.
Day19 Guilin B/L/D
In the morning visit Reed Flute Cave, which got its name from the kind of reed growing near the cave which makes fine flutes. The huge limestone Karst cave zigzags 500 meters deep and stretches 240 metres wide. Then visit Fubo Hill in the Lijiang River, which was built by a general of the Han Dynasty (202 B.C.-220 B.C.) and used to defend the city against intruders. In the afternoon free.
Day20 Guilin - Shanghai flight 1250/1450 MU5344 1N 3*Jiulong hotel B/L
Whole day free. In the afternoon transfer to airport, and then fly to Shanghai, China's most cosmopolitan and industrialized city.
Day21 Flight Shanghai - home B
Today Transfer to airport, fly back home.
